Death Sentence of Five Baloch Prisoners Carried Out in the Prisons of Iran

Death sentences for five Baloch prisoners, namely Mahmoud Mangoli, Alireza Sargolzaie, Hassan Shadman, Barahouie and Mohsen Karami were implemented at Birjand, Qaen, and Mashhad Prisons.

According to a report obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, the death sentence of Mahmoud Mangoli (Gorgij), 42 years old, a resident of Saleh Abad County, Khorasan Razavi Province, was carried out in Birjand Central Prison.

Simultaneously, Alireza Sargolzaie, 25 years old, a father of two, from Zahedan, had his execution sentence carried out at Vakilabad Central Prison.

Earlier, on Sunday, April 28, 2024, three Baloch prisoners - Mohsen Karami, aged 28; Hassan Shadman; and another prisoner named Barahouei-were executed at Qaen Prison in Khorasan Razavi.

All of these five Baloch prisoners had previously been detained and sentenced to death for drug-related crimes.

The news of these executions had not been disclosed in government-affiliated media outlets, particularly those aligned with the government, at the time of compiling this report.
