Nine Kolbars Injured by Direct Fire from Iranian Border Gurads

Nine Kolbars, including  Sasan Mohammadi, Nima Almasi, Mohammad Mohammadi, Ayoub Hashemi, Khalil Mohammadi, Mahan Moradi, and three others whose identities are currently under investigation, sustained injuries due to direct fire from Iranian Border Guards along the borders of Nowsud, Kermanshah Province and Marivan, Kurdistan Province.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the evening of Monday, April 29, 2024, Iranian Border Guards opened fire on a group of Kolbars in the border zone of Nowsud, resulting in injuries to at least eight individuals. Identified Kolbars include Mohammad Mohammadi from “Shoshmi”, Ayub Hashemi from Marivan, Khalil Mohammadi, and Nima Almasi, both from Salas-e Babajani, Kermanshah Province, as well as 17-year-old Mahan Moradi from Javanroud. They were subsequently transported to medical centers in Nowsud for treatment.

Informed sources report that Nima Almasi sustained severe wounds to his hand, side, and back from the shotguns used by these forces.

Meanwhile, on the evening of Wednesday, April 24, 2024, a 28-year-old Kolbar identified as Sasan Mohammadi from Baneh was shot by Iranian armed forces using military weapons in the Qamishleh border area of Marivan, resulting in serious injuries.

According to informed sources, Sasan Mohammadi was struck by two Kalashnikov bullets in his left hand and hip, with one bullet exiting his abdomen after piercing his hip. Despite several days passing, this Kolbar has yet to regain mobility in his arms and legs.
