Covert execution of a Kurdish Prisoner of conscience in Karaj-Iran

Soran Mahmoudi, a Kurdish resident of Piranshahr, West Azerbaijan (Urmia) Province, who was arrested last October, has been sentenced to three years of imprisonment by the Mahabad Revolutionary Court.


According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Soran Mahmoudi, from Piranshahr, has recently been sentenced by the first branch of the Mahabad Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Dousti, to serve three years in prison for alleged charges of'membership and collaboration with the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan.’

The aforementioned sentence was officially communicated to Soran Mahmoudi in recent days.

Soran Mahmoudi was arrested by the intelligence forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Piranshahr in early October last year and was temporarily released from the central prison of Naghadeh on November 13 of the same year on bail amounting to three billion Tomans.
