Kurdish Singer Arrested by Iranian Security Forces

Hadi Laveh, a Kurdish singer hailing from Oshnavieh in the West Azerbaijan (Urmia) Province, has been arrested and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to a report obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, Hadi Laveh, a young Kurdish singer from Oshnavieh, was detained by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and transferred to an undisclosed location.

Based on credible reports, security officials cited his political poetry as the reason for detention during the arrest, and Laveh was violently apprehended without a legal warrant. As of now, the agency responsible for this arrest remains unknown.

At the time of reporting, the efforts of the Laveh family to ascertain the whereabouts  of their son have been unsuccessful.
