Hengwa: A prisoner in Urmia's central prison commited suicide after the authorities rejected his request for a short vacation.

On Wednesday October 10, Mohammad Ahoupa, 33, from Urmia ended his life in ward 15's bathroom in Urmia's central prison, based on Hengaw Organisation for Humnn Rights.

Mohammad Ahoupa married and father of two children, commited suicide to show his objection to the authorities after his request for a short vacation was denied.

He was arrested on charges of drug dealing and sentenced to 25 years of confinement. He has been imprisoned for 6 years in Zanjan and Urmia's prisons so far.
