Kurdish female environmental activist, Frank Jamshidi arrested to serve her sentence

Hengaw: A Kurdish female civil and environmental activist from Sanandaj was arrested to serve her imprisonment sentence.

According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, June 10, 2021, Frank Jamshidi, a civil and environmental activist in Sanandaj, was arrested after being summoned to the 4th Branch of the Iranian court in Sanandaj to serve her one-year imprisonment sentence.

She has been transferred to Sanandaj Central Prison (Correctional Center).

Frank Jamshidi was arrested by the Iranian Intelligence Service in Sanandaj on Sunday, June 28, 2020, And was released on a 200 million Toman ($10000) bail after four and a half months and until the trial.

This Kurdish activist was sentenced to 4 years in prison by the First Branch of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj, headed by Judge Saeedi, on charge of “ Membership in a Kurdish political party” in February 2021. This sentence was later reduced to 1 year in prison by the 4th Branch

of the Provincial Court of Appeals.
