Kurdish prisoner dies in Bukan central Prison due to lack of medical services

Hengaw: A Kurdish citizen from Bukan district of West Azerbaijan (Urmia) Province who was detained by the Iranian  intelligence service in the city has died after being transferred to the city's central prison.

According to a report received by Hengaw  Human Rights Organization, on the evening of Tuesday, May 31, 2021, a prisoner from the village of "Nobar" in Bukan, identified as "Nasser Karimi", 25, son of Qader died due to lack of medical care in Bukan Prison.

According to an informed source, Nasser Karimi was arrested on Monday by the Iranian Intelligence Service on charges of financial crimes.

Nasser Karimi was in critical condition after being transferred to prison, and prison officials refused to send him to medical facilities outside the prison.

According to a source close to Karimi's family, prison officials told them that Nasser Karimi had died of a heart attack.  However, Karim's family refused to accept his body and the body of this citizen was transferred to Miandoab for autopsy.
