Hengaw : A Kurdish citizen from Baneh, who was wounded and detained by the Iranian security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran last year, has been held in security detention centers and Sanandaj Central Prison since then .

According to a report received by Hengaw  Human Rights Organization, Yousef Ahmadi, a 31-year-old citizen of Baneh district in Kurdistan Province was arrested by Iranian  Intelligence Service in Baneh last year after being wounded by gunfire and is still being held in Sanandaj Central Prison.

A source close to Yousefi's family told Henagw  that he is married and father of three children, and the security forces shot and wounded Mr. Yousefi in front of them and took him away.

Yousef Ahmadi was arrested on Sunday, April 26, 2020, by Iranian Intelligence Service in Baneh on charges of collaborating with a Kurdish opposition party. He was detained and tortured for seven months in Sanandaj security detention centers and has been transferred to Sanandaj Central Prison for 5 months .

The source further stated that Yousef Ahmadi was severely injured in his leg  during his arrest and was never taken to medical centers during this period, and that he was forced to confess to the charges while he was  injured.

Yousef Ahmadi was detained during the mass arrests in Baneh last year and has since been denied leave.  Last year, the Human Rights Organization issued a statement condemning the arrests and urging human rights organizations not to remain silent.
