Hengaw: According to a report received by the Hengaw, Human Rights Organization, on Saturday, August 14, 2021, a 42-years old Kurdish political activist identified as "Shores Khezrzadeh" from Bukan, who had been living in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq for several years, surrendered to the IRGC forces at the Baneh border. After arrested by The IRGC immediately transferred to Bukan central prison.

According to a source close to Khezrzadeh's family, who asked to remain anonymous for security reasons, the Khezrzadeh family was contacted by the officials of the Bukan's "Shahid Gholipour" Hospital, that their son had died and to visit the hospital to receive his body.

The source added that Khezrzadeh's family was not aware of the surrendered of their son nor of his detention. Still unclear whether Shoresh Khezrzadeh was in Bukan Central Prison or in Bukan Detention Centers prior to his death. But his family were told that their son had died of "toxic goiter".

According to Hengaw sources,  Shoresh Khezrzadeh's body was autopsied and his family was told that the autopsy results would be delivered to them in three months.

Another relative of Khezri's family told Hengaw that the body of Shoresh Khezrzadeh was buried in a cemetery in Bukan on Thursday, August 19th.

The source added that there were no signs of torture or beatings on the body, but the circumstances of his death and the unknown location of his detention prior to his death as well as lack of transparency by the Iranian authorities, raises the question and suspicion of his death.

Also worth mentioning that, according to a relative of the Khezrzdah's family, Shoresh Khezrzdah was a member of the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan for some time and was active in Iraqi Kurdistan for four years in above Kurdistan opposition party.
