Hengaw: A prisoner who had escaped from Saqqez prison and rearrested, is in danger of execution and the prison authorities have asked his family to visit him for the last time.

According to the report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Friday, April 10, 2020, the Saqqez prison authorities have asked the family of Mostafa Salimi to visit him in prison for the last time.

A source close to Salimi confirmed the news and announced that the prison authorities have announced that he will be executed soon and all of the family members can come to prison for farewell visits.

Mostafa Salimi is from Ilou village of Saqqez, born on July 1967 who arrested on April 6, 2003 and was sentenced to execution by judge Godini in charge of Moharebeh (War against God), Stick-up and membership in Kurdish opposition parties.

This prisoner has previously been a member of Democratic party of Iranian Kurdistan for some years and had returned to Saqqez after separation from the party.

He has been in detention for 17 years in Sanandaj and Saqqez prisons without having right of temporary release from prison.

Mostafa Salimi along with 70 prisoners escaped from Saqqez prison on March 27 and rearrested after 10 days by security forces.The Sanandaj prosecutor named him as the mastermind of prisoner's escape from Saqqez prison.

It's worth noting that Ashkan, the 25 years old son of Mostafa Salimi who had visited Saqqez court to follow his father's case on June 13, 2018, attempted suicide after was insulted and disrespected by the judiciary system authorities.
