Hengaw – Monday, April 6, 2026

Iranian authorities have executed Ali Fahim, a 23-year-old protest detainee, at Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj, according to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.

Fahim was executed at dawn on April 6, 2026, without prior notice to his family and without a final visit.

He was among those arrested during the December protests in Tehran and was the fourth defendant in a case related to an alleged attack on a Basij base on Namjou Street.

Iran’s judiciary-affiliated Mizan news agency confirmed the execution, saying the sentence was carried out after approval by the Supreme Court.

Fahim had been arrested on January 8, 2026, along with six others and was sentenced to death within a month by Branch 15 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Abolghasem Salavati. He faced charges including “waging war against God,” “corruption on earth,” arson of public property and conspiracy against national security.

The swift sentencing process, just three months after his arrest, violated fair trial standards and raised concerns about the use of the death penalty as a political tool.

With Fahim’s execution, four defendants in the case have now been put to death. Three others , Shahab Zahdi, Abolfazl Salehi Siavoshani and Yaser Rajaeifar, remain in solitary confinement and face a serious risk of execution.
