Hengaw : Five Kurdish human rights monitoring groups have condemned the Iranian government’s torture of two Peshmerga fighters from the Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK) whom were arrested last week.

Earlier on Tuesday, Iran’s state-affiliated Tasnim News Agency said that the security forces had arrested Hoshmand Alipour and Mohammad Ostad Qader, during clashes in western province of Kurdistan.

The two were identified as members of PAK. They were later shown in a televised confession.

In a statement on Friday, the NGOs said Alipour and Qader were subject to torture by the Iranian forces, and they were obliged to confess on a broadcasting program.

The statement reminded that no international rights for political prisoners had been followed in the case of the two PAK members.

The Kurdish human rights watchdogs hold the Iranian government and its security and intelligence services responsible for the safety and rights of the two inmates.
