Death sentence of a Prisoner carried out in Hamedan Central Prison

The death sentence of a Kurdish prisoner named Mohammad Shams, a 36-year-old resident of Asadabad in Hamadan Province, who had been previously sentenced to death by the Islamic Republic of Iran judiciary on charges related to drug offenses, was carried out in Hamedan Central Prison (Alvand Prison).
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution took place at dawn on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
Informed sources have confirmed that the prisoner had been arrested earlier on drug-related charges and sentenced to death by the Islamic Republic of Iran judiciary.
