Two prisoners executed in Mahabad Central Prison

The death sentences of two Kurdish prisoners from Mahabad, Rahim Barin and Jamal Noboure, were carried out in Mahabad Central Prison. Both had been previously arrested and sentenced to death on charges of premeditated murder.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions were carried out at dawn on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

Rahim Barin had been convicted of killing a government agent, while Jamal Noboure had been arrested two years ago on charges of premeditated murder and subsequently sentenced to death by the Islamic Republic of Iran judiciary.

As of the time of this report, the execution of these two prisoners has not been announced by state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
