Death sentence of three prisoners carried out in Shiraz Central Prison

The death sentences of three prisoners, identified as Amin Maleki, Mehdi Shirvani, and Fardin Abdollahi, who had been convicted of “premeditated murder” and drug-related offenses, were carried out in Shiraz Central Prison (Adelabad Prison).

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Thursday, November 28, 2024, the execution of Amin Maleki, a 34-year-old resident of Safa in Fars Province, was carried out on charges of “premeditated murder.” Additionally, Mehdi Shirvani and Fardin Abdollahi were executed for drug-related offenses in the same prison.

It is noteworthy that Amin Maleki had been imprisoned for four years on murder charges, while Mehdi Shirvani and Fardin Abdollahi were arrested two years ago in a joint case related to drug offenses and sentenced to death.

In the days leading up to their executions, Amin Maleki was transferred from Ward 11 of Adelabad Prison, while Mehdi Shirvani and Fardin Abdollahi were moved from Pirbanoo Prison in Shiraz to solitary confinement in Adelabad Prison to await the implementation of their sentences.

As of the time of this report, the execution of these three prisoners has not been announced by state-affiliated media, particularly those connected to the judiciary.
