Prisoner executed in Sari Central Prison

The death sentence of a prisoner identified as Jamal Asgarabadi, a resident of Sharifabad, Sari, was carried out in Sari Central Prison, the capital of Mazandaran province.  He had previously been sentenced to death by the judiciary of Islamic Republic of Iran on charges related to drug offenses.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, the death sentence of Jamal Asgarabadi, 42 years old and a resident of Sharifabad, Sari, was carried out in Sari Central Prison.

This prisoner had previously been arrested on charges related to drug offenses and subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary.

As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced in state-affiliated media, especially those close to the judiciary.
