As a result of torture, fractured organs, and a bullet wound to the left chest area, Hemin Mustafai, a prisoner with a death sentence from Kani Dinar, Marivan, who was moved to the intelligence detention center from Sanandaj central prison on October 1, 2022, needs immediate surgery.
According to information provided to the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the Sanandaj Intelligence Detention Center's solitary cell is where 33-year-old Hemin Mustafai is presently being kept. Three ribs, two teeth, fingers, and toes were injured as a result of the torture, and he was under extreme physical and mental strain.
Before being moved to the intelligence detention facility on October 1, 2022, during the uprisings in Sanandaj, Hemin Mustafai, who is on death row, was serving his tenth year of imprisonment in Sanandaj Central Prison. It should be noted that the Kurdistan Province's prosecutor general has vowed to carry out his death sentence.
Authorities at Sanandaj Central Prison opened fire on the protesting inmates on October 1, 2022. This political prisoner was wounded during the Sanandaj Central Prison inmates' protest, and some of the shotgun pellets that struck his left chest and wound up near his heart reportedly pierced deep into his body.
Despite the fact that Hemin Mustafai's physical condition has gotten worse and he urgently needs surgery and medical attention, authorization to move him to treatment facilities has not yet been granted.
On March 1, 2013, Hemin Mustafaei was detained on suspicion of killing Ebrahim Mohammadi, a former IRGC member, near Marivan.
The criminal court in Sanandaj eventually sentenced this prisoner to "retribution" on the charge of intentional murder and to 4 years in prison for the charge of possessing weapons. It should be mentioned that Sanandaj's security agencies attempted to file a moharebeh case against Hemin Mustafai, but the Supreme Court denied this request owing to a lack of supporting documentation and evidence.
Additionally, in June 2017, he was moved to Sanandaj Central Prison's solitary cell for a while. Finally, the execution of this sentence was halted as protesters demonstrated in front of the prison and with the private plaintiff's approval.
Prior to his detention, Hemin Mostafai had been a member of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan for some time. In the same incident, Bayan Kakekhani, Hiwa Dadafarin, and Khalil Sherzadi were all detained on suspicion of taking part in the murder of Ebrahim Mohammadi. The Islamic Republic of Iran's media, Press TV, published the detainees' coerced confessions on December 30, 2013, under the title " (سوژە مرگ) subject to death."
