Death sentence of Kurdish Prisoner implemented in an Iranian Prison

The death sentence of Kurdish prisoner Hassan Moharer has been carried out at Urmia Central Prison, while simultaneously, four other prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement for execution.
According to a report received by the Hengaw organization for human rights, the execution took place on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. Hassan Moharer, from the village of "Lerni" in the vicinity of Tergever, Urmia, was arrested several years ago on charges related to drug offenses and subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The news of the execution of this prisoner had not been disclosed in government-affiliated media outlets, particularly those aligned with the government, at the time of compiling this report.
Furthermore, it has been reported that at least four other prisoners sentenced to death were transferred to solitary confinement in Urmia Prison for execution.
