Death Sentence of Two Kurdish Prisoners Executed in Iranian Prisons

The death sentences of two Kurdish prisoners from Ilam were carried out in Ilam Central Prison. The identities of these two prisoners, Reza Gholamhosseini and Farrokh Khan Mohammadi, have been verified by Hengaw.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, the executions took place at dawn on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. These prisoners had been sentenced to death for premeditated murder.

Reza Gholamhosseini, aged 21, was arrested last year, while Farrokh-Khan Mohammadi, aged 60, was arrested 14 years ago. They were both convicted by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

As of the time of this report, the news of the execution of these two prisoners has not been announced in governmental media, particularly media outlets close to the judiciary.
