A Brief Report on the Arrest of 17 Kurdish Civilians Over Four Days

In the first four days of September, at least 17 Kurdish citizens, including a 16-year-old child, were arrested in various cities of Kurdistan by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and transferred to unknown locations.

According to statistics recorded at the Statistics and Documentation Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, during the first four days of September 2024, at least 10 Kurdish citizens in the city of Belbanabad in the Dehgolan district, 4 citizens including a child in Mahabad, and 3 citizens in Oshnavieh were arrested by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and transferred to unknown locations.

On Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, at least 10 citizens, named Jamil Mohammadi, Shadman Mohammadi, Foad Mohammadi, Mohammad Mohammadi, Meysam Haji Majid, Samir Mohammadi, Pedram Mohammadi (25 years old), Mardin Bagheri (19 years old), and two other civilians with the surname Bagheri (unknown first names), were arrested in Belbanabad in the Dehgolan district.

Additionally, Ramyar Abubakri, a 16-year-old child, and Siavash Soltani, both family members of slain protestors, Adel Kakeh (23 years old), and Omid Ahmadnejad, a 35-year-old artist, were arrested by the Iranian security agencies in the city of Mahabad.

As part of the ongoing wave of widespread arrests of Kurdish citizens in recent days, in the early hours of Wednesday, September 4, three citizens named Diako Azizi (34 years old), Loqman Zangi (52 years old), and his son Siamand Zangi (22 years old) were arrested in Oshnavieh.
