Iran Arrests Another Kurdish Individual and Assaults His Mother

In the continued wave of arrests of Kurdish individual ahead of the second anniversary of the state-sanctioned killing of Jina Amini, Kamran Afsari, an Individual from the village of Ney, a suburb of Marivan, was arrested by security forces of Islamic Republic of Iran

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, Kamran Afsari, a 29-year-old individual from the village of "Ney," a suburb of Marivan, was arrested by agents of the Intelligence Department and transferred to an unknown location.

A source close to Afsari’s family reported that agents from the Intelligence Department raided the family home without presenting a search warrant and forcefully arrested him. The source further informed Hengaw that one of the officers, identified by the last name “Yousefzadeh,” assaulted Kamran Afsari’s mother, striking her in the head with the butt of a gun.

As of the time of this report, no precise information is available regarding the reasons for the arrest, the charges brought against him, or the whereabouts  of Kamran Afsari.
