Toll of Arrests of Kurdish Individuals by Iranian Security Forces Rises to Eight in Divandarreh

With the arrest of Maziar Moradi and Pedram Mahmoodi, two Kurdish men from Divandarreh, the number of civilians arrested in the lead-up to the second anniversary of the state-sanctioned killing of Jina Amini has risen to eight.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the evening of Friday, September 13, 2024, Maziar Moradi, a 26-year-old wrestler, and Pedram Mahmoodi, 25, were arrested by intelligence forces and transferred to an undisclosed location.
Sources close to the families of these two Kurdish men stated that intelligence officers, without presenting an arrest warrant and using force, apprehended them while they were returning from work.
As of now, no detailed information is available regarding the reasons for their arrest, the charges against them, or their current whereabouts.
According to statistics recorded by the Statistics and Documentation Center of Hengaw, at least eight Kurdish civilians from Divandarreh have been arrested over the past week in connection with the second commemoration of Jina Amini.
