The Death Sentence of a Prisoner Carried Out in Karaj

The death sentence of a Kurdish prisoner from Kermanshah , identified as Marevatali Karami, previously sentenced to death on drug-related charges, was carried out in Karaj Central Prison.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the early hours of Tuesday, October 29, 2024, the death sentence of Morevatali Karami, a resident of the Balavand region in Kermanshah, was carried out in Karaj Central Prison, which Iranian state media refer to as "Karaj Central Correctional Facility."

An informed source reported that Marevatali Karami was arrested four years ago on drug-related charges and consequently sentenced to death. On Saturday, October 26, 2024, he was transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for the execution.

To date, the news of the execution of this man has not been announced by Iranian state media, particularly those affiliated with the judiciary.
