Three prisoners executed in Kermanshah Central Prison

Three Kurdish prisoners, identified as Mozafar Shahsavari, Mohammad Shahidi, and Ashkan Kazemi, were executed in Kermanshah (Kirmaşan) Central Prison after being sentenced to death on separate charges of premeditated murder.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions were carried out at dawn on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
Mozafar Shahsavari, 45 years old and a resident of Kermanshah, had been on death row for four years following his conviction for murder. Mohammad Shahidi, 37 years old and also from Kermanshah, had been sentenced to death four years ago on similar charges.
Ashkan Kazemi, a former member of the Iranian Army and a native of the Govar district in Gilan-e Gharb County, Kermanshah Province, was convicted of using his service weapon, a 9mm Parabellum pistol, to kill his wife, Shiva Zafari, her brother, and her lawyer, Pariyoush Zafari. The killings occurred during a dispute over dowry and marital property four years ago, leading to his death sentence.
As of this report, the executions of these three prisoners have not been announced by state-run media or judicial authorities.
Based on data compiled by Hengaw’s Center for Statistics and Documentation, at least 10 Kurdish prisoners have been executed in the first week of 2025 in prisons in Mahabad, Kermanshah, and Ghezel Hesar, Karaj.
