Prisoner executed in Isfahan Central Prison

The death sentence of Morteza Jafari, a prisoner held in Isfahan Central Prison (Dastgerd), was carried out in this prison. He had been previously convicted on drug-related charges.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Thursday, February 27, 2025, Morteza Jafari, a 28-year-old prisoner from Isfahan, was executed in Isfahan Central Prison.

On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, Morteza Jafari was transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for his execution.

Jafari had been arrested six years ago on drug-related charges and was later sentenced to death by the judiciary of Islamic Republic of Iran.
