Iranian authorities executed Khodadad Mohammadi, a retired Kurdish teacher from Eyvan-e Gharb and father of five, at Ilam Central Prison, bringing the number of prisoners executed at the facility on the same day to at least two.
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mohammadi was executed at dawn on August 19, 2026, at Ilam Central Prison.
Sources familiar with the case said Mohammadi was arrested about two years ago on the charge of murdering his son-in-law and was subsequently sentenced to death under Iran’s qisas (retributive justice) laws by the Ilam Provincial Criminal Court.
With the execution of 20-year-old Donya Mohammadi at the same prison on the same day, at least two prisoners were executed at Ilam Central Prison on Wednesday.
Iranian state media and judicial authorities have not publicly announced either execution.
