The death sentence of a Kurdish prisoner from Bijar, identified as Amir Jafarpanah, who had previously been convicted of premeditated murder, was carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Thursday, February 27, 2025, the death sentence of Amir Jafarpanah, a 40-year-old from Bijar, was carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj, the capital of Alborz province.
A source close to the Jafarpanah family stated that the prisoner had been arrested five years ago on charges of murdering his maternal aunt and her husband and was later sentenced to death by the judiciary.
As of the time of this report, news of his execution has not been announced by state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
