Prisoner executed in Vakilabad Prison, Mashhad

The death sentence of a prisoner identified as Hafez Bani-Asadi, was carried out in Vakilabad Prison, Mashhad. He had previously been convicted of “moharebeh (Waging war against God) through armed robbery."

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Monday, February 3, 2025, Hafez Bani-Asadi, from Kahnuj, a city in Kerman Province, was executed in Vakilabad Prison, Mashhad.

A knowledgeable source confirmed that Bani-Asadi had been arrested on charges of “moharebeh through armed robbery” and subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary of Islamic Republic of Iran.

As of the time of this report, Iranian state media and judiciary-affiliated outlets have not announced the execution.
