Prisoner executed in Khorramabad Central Prison

The death sentence of Mohammad Javad (Afshin) Hasanvand, a law enforcement officer from Selseleh County in Lorestan Province, had been carried out in Khorramabad Central Prison (Parsilon Prison). He was previously convicted of “premeditated murder” by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Saturday, March 8, 2025, Mohammad Javad (Afshin) Hasanvand, a First Lieutenant in the Iranian Law Enforcement Force and a resident of Alishtar in Selseleh County, was executed in Khorramabad Central Prison.

He had been arrested six years ago on charges of committing the “premeditated murder” of two people and was subsequently sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been officially announced by state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
