Two Kurdish prisoners executed in Bandar Abbas Prison: Karim Esmaeili and Peyman Naderi

The death sentences of two Kurdish prisoners, Peyman Naderi and Karim Esmaeili, from the cities of Kermanshah and Eslamabad-e Gharb (Shabad), were carried out at Bandar Abbas Central Prison. Both had previously been convicted on drug-related charges.

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the death sentences were carried out on the morning of Tuesday, April 15, 2025. Peyman Naderi, aged 28 and a resident of Kermanshah, and Karim Esmaeili from Eslamabad-e Gharb were executed in Bandar Abbas Central Prison.

Sources familiar with the cases stated that Karim Esmaeili had been sentenced to death three years ago, and Peyman Naderi two years ago, in separate cases related to drug charges.

On the same day, the death sentence of Eyoub Berniaei, a 37-year-old Baloch prisoner and father of two from Rameshk in Kerman province, was also carried out in the same prison. He had likewise been sentenced to death on drug-related charges, and his case had previously been reported by Hengaw.

To date, these executions have not been reported in state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
