Execution of Alireza Gholibeigi carried out in Qom Central Prison

The death sentence of Alireza Gholibeigi, a prisoner from Qom convicted of premeditated murder, was carried out in Qom Central Prison (Langroud Prison).

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Gholibeigi, 33, a resident of Khadijeh Khatoun village in Qom Province, was executed at early hours of Monday, May 19, 2025.

He had been arrested four years earlier for the murder of his cousin in what was described as an “honor-related” case. Following judicial proceedings, he was sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The execution has not been reported by state-affiliated media outlets, particularly those linked to the judiciary.
