Kurdish prisoner, Naser Nabizadeh, executed in Urmia

The death sentence of Naser Nabizadeh, a Kurdish detainee, was carried out in Urmia Central Prison. He had previously been convicted on drug-related charges.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution took place at dawn on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Nabizadeh was a resident of Gajin, a village around Urmia.
He had been arrested on charges related to drug offenses approximately eighteen months ago and was later sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
State media — including outlets affiliated with the judiciary — had not published any news of his execution.
