Two Kurdish relatives executed on drug charges in Ghezel Hesar Prison

Two Kurdish prisoners, Masoud Naseri and Ardeshir Soltanabadi, executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj. Both men had been sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic on drug-related charges.

According to information received by the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, the executions were carried out at dawn on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Naseri was from Kermanshah (Kermashan), and Soltanabadi was from Harsin, also in Kermanshah Province. Both were married and had children.

Sources familiar with the case reported that the two, who were also relatives, had been arrested several years ago on drug trafficking charges before being sentenced to death by Iranian courts.

State media and judiciary-affiliated outlets have not acknowledged the executions.
