Hengaw – Thursday, July 17, 2025

Iran’s Intelligence Office in Badreh, Ilam Province, has issued an explicit assassination threat against exiled Kurdish political activist Ali Tamari (also known as Ali Ilami), while also summoning and intimidating his family.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, Tamari’s parents and sister were summoned to the Intelligence Office in Badreh. Sources close to the family reported that agents threatened to assassinate Tamari if he did not cease his political activities abroad.

Following the interrogation, both of Tamari’s parents suffered acute psychological distress and required several hours of hospitalization under medical supervision.

Tamari, originally from Badreh in Ilam Province, was seriously injured in November 2022 during an IRGC missile attack targeting Kurdish opposition party headquarters in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. He spent several months in recovery at medical facilities following the strike.
