Five prisoners executed in the prisons of Isfahan, Shiraz, and Sari

The death sentences of five prisoners — Behrouz Sedqi, Arash Mahjour, Houshang Fathi, Salar Rahimzadeh, and Siamand Sa’adati — who had previously been sentenced to death on charges of “premeditated murder” and drug-related offenses, were carried out in the prisons of Isfahan, Shiraz, and Sari.
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions of two prisoners from Isfahan, identified as Behrouz Sedqi, 28, and Arash Mahjour, 36, were carried out at dawn on Monday, August 18, 2025, in Isfahan Central Prison (Dastgerd).
According to Iran Human Rights Organization, Sedqi had been arrested four years ago on charges of murder during a street fight, and Mahjour had been arrested six years ago on charges of murder. Both were sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
On Sunday, August 17, the death sentence of a prisoner from Mashhad, identified as Salar Rahimzadeh, 38, was carried out in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz, along with two other prisoners whose executions Hengaw had previously reported. This prisoner had been arrested four years ago on charges of premeditated murder and was sentenced to death.
On Saturday, August 16, 2025, the death sentences of Houshang Fathi, 30, and Siamand Sa’adati, 41, were carried out in Sari Central Prison.
Fathi had been arrested three years ago, and Sa’adati two years ago, both on drug-related charges, and both were sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
These executions had not been published in state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
