Iranian authorities carry out execution of Azad Moradi from Baneh

Iranian authorities have executed Kurdish prisoner Azad Moradi, a 43-year-old man from Baneh, in Sanandaj Central Prison (Sine). He had been sentenced to death on charges of premeditated murder.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Moradi, a resident of Qelayawa village in Baneh County, was executed at dawn on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

Sources confirmed that Moradi was arrested five years ago on murder charges and subsequently sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

The execution has not been reported by state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
