Execution of Kurdish man Mohammad Babaei carried out in Sanandaj Central Prison

Iranian authorities executed Mohammad Babaei, a Kurdish man from Sarvabad (Sawllawa) who had previously been sentenced to death on charges of murder, in Sanandaj Central Prison (Sine).

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, the death sentence of 44-year-old Babaei, a resident of Dezli village in Sarvabad County, was implemented in Sanandaj Central Prison.

Sources confirmed that Babaei had earlier been arrested on charges of murder and subsequently sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

The execution has not been reported by state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
