Number of executed prisoners in Kermanshah Central Prison rises to four

Hengaw – Thursday, October 23, 2025
The identity of another Kurdish prisoner executed in Kermanshah Central Prison has been confirmed as Sasan Lorestani, raising the total number of prisoners executed in this facility to four. Earlier, the identities of Shahram Mirzaei, Eqbal Khazaei, and Ahmad (last name unconfirmed) had been verified.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the death sentence of Sasan Lorestani, aged 40 and a resident of Towe Latif village in Eslamabad-e Gharb (Shabad), was carried out in secret and without a final family visit in Kermanshah Central Prison.
Sources reported that Lorestani had been arrested four years ago on charges of premeditated murder and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
Hengaw had earlier reported the execution of three other Kurdish prisoners from Kermanshah — Shahram Mirzaei (31), Eqbal Khazaei, and Ahmad (surname unconfirmed) — on the same day in the same prison.
Iranian state media, including judiciary-affiliated outlets, have not announced these executions.
