Three prisoners executed in Karaj Central Prison on charges of armed robbery

The death sentences of Amir Reza Ghabadi, Majid Hatami, and Sajjad Hatami, who had been convicted on charges of armed robbery, were carried out by the Iranian judiciary.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, the three prisoners were executed. While state-controlled media outlets did not specify the location of the executions, Hengaw has learned that they were carried out in Karaj's Qezel Hesar Prison.

The three men, all from Lorestan Province, were arrested in May 2024 following several incidents of armed robbery in different parts of Tehran.

Following their arrest, they were charged with “waging war against God (moharebeh) through brandishing weapons against civilians, participation in serial and armed robberies with firearms, group assaults at night, and threats with deadly weapons.”
