Hengaw — Saturday, February 7, 2026

At least eleven people, including four Lor residents of Dehdasht, two Baloch civilians, and one physically disabled Lor person, have been arrested by Iranian government forces in recent weeks across the cities of Chabahar, Bandar-e Lengeh, Gorgan, Mashhad, Tehran, Sabzevar, and Hamedan.

The Hengaw Organization for Human Rights has identified those arrested as Jaber Taqvaei, Ali Taqvaei, Fardin Javanbakht, Hamed Karimkhah, Omar Mohajer, Abed Jadgal, Mohammad Hadi Mahimini, Ali Heydari, Javad Mianabadi, Sajad Salarvand, and Hamed Tafrijani.

Details of the cases, listed by location, are as follows:

Dehdasht — Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province

In Dehdasht, Jaber Taqvaei and Ali Taqvaei were arrested during protest-related incidents on the evening of January 9, while Fardin Javanbakht and Hamed Karimkhah were detained several days earlier on January 6. Sources report that Hamed Karimkhah, an electrical engineer and athlete, may face heavy judicial charges.

Chabahar and Dashtiari

Omar Mohajer, 26, a resident of Latidan village in Chabahar County, was arrested by government forces in Chabahar on January 28, and no information has since been released about his whereabouts or condition. In a separate case, Abed Jadgal, 26, a Baloch father of one from Dashtiari, was arrested in Bandar-e Lengeh and transferred to an undisclosed location.

Mashhad and Sabzevar

Ali Heydari, 20, from Mashhad, was arrested on January 8 after being wounded by gunfire. His current condition and place of detention remain unknown. In Sabzevar, Javad Mianabadi, 35, was detained on the evening of January 9. State television later broadcast a video described by sources as a forced confession, raising serious concerns about case fabrication and coercion.

Hamedan

In Hamedan, Hamed Tafrijani, a young resident of the city, was violently arrested at his home during a raid by government forces on the evening of January 8.

Gorgan

Mohammad Hadi Mahimini, a student at Gorgan University of Medical Sciences, has been in custody since December 29. Sources report that he was subjected to torture during interrogation and is currently being held in Gorgan Prison.

Tehran

Sajad Salarvand, a physically disabled Lor athlete from Dorud living in Tehran and a member of Iran’s Paralympic sports community, was arrested by IRGC Intelligence authorities one day before a planned trip to participate in the Dubai Marathon. He was later released on bail but has been ordered to appear before the Tehran Revolutionary Court on February 8. He stated on his Instagram page that he faces charges including “acting against national security,” “media propaganda,” and “disturbing public opinion.”
