Nine people detained across several cities in Iran

Iranian authorities have arrested at least nine more people in recent weeks across multiple cities in Iran. In several cases, no information has been made available regarding their whereabouts or legal status.
Based on information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the arrests were carried out between early January and early February in the cities of Yasuj, Tehran, Gorgan, Ramsar, Lahijan, Rask, Nur, and Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh. Further details are as follows:
Lahijan, Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh, Ramsar, and Gorgan
Majid Ebrahimi and Amin Darvishi, both 28-year-old Gilaki men from Lahijan, along with Farzad Qaderi, a Gilaki man originally from Nur and residing in Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh, were arrested on January 8, 2026. Their whereabouts remain unknown. Reports indicate that Ebrahimi was subjected to torture during detention and interrogation, resulting in fractures to his face and leg.
In Gorgan, Saber Safari was arrested on the evening of Friday, January 16, 2026. Another resident of the city, Alireza Eisaei, was arrested earlier, on January 8, at his home. Both were transferred to undisclosed locations.
In a separate case, Ehsan Nedaei Hour, a resident of Ramsar in Mazandaran province, was arrested by government bodies on January 8. No information has since been made available regarding his fate.
Rask
Abdolrahman Lalehzahi, a 29-year-old Baloch man from Mirdouk village in the Paroud district of Rask County, was arrested in the city of Sarbaz on February 2, 2026. Intelligence forces affiliated with the IRGC reportedly confiscated his vehicle at the time of arrest and took it with them.
Yasuj
Dr. Saeed Javanbakht, a medical intern at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, was arrested in Yasuj on January 9, 2026, on accusations related to providing medical assistance to injured protesters. He remains in detention, with no clear information available regarding his condition or legal status.
Tehran
Behdad Piri, a 23-year-old student from Tehran and a student at Shahid Beheshti University, was arrested during protests on January 8, 2026. His current whereabouts, legal status, and any charges against him remain unknown.
