Four children arrested in separate cities; families left without information

Four minors, Adib Ahmadinezhad, Mehdi Haqju, Armin Sharifian, and Mohammadhossein Khorshidvand, have been arrested by Iranian government forces during recent protests in the cities of Sanandaj (Sine), Langarud in Gilan Province, Nishapur in Razavi Khorasan Province, and Kahrizak, Tehran.
Based on information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, 17-year-old Adib Ahmadinezhad, a Kurdish child from Sanandaj, was arrested in his hometown on February 9, 2026. Authorities have not disclosed any information about his whereabouts or condition.
Seventeen-year-old Armin Sharifian from Nishapur was violently arrested on February 8, 2026, by agents of the Intelligence Department at his workplace, locally known as Khat-e Kashi. Authorities refused to disclose information about his place of detention or current status. Reports received by Hengaw confirms that his father suffered a seizure due to the severe psychological distress caused by his son’s arrest and the continued lack of information about his situation.
Mohammadhossein Khorshidvand, a 15-year-old Lor athlete from Khorramabad, was arrested at his family home in the Maskan-e Mehr neighborhood of Kahrizak, Tehran, on January 14, 2026. He was subsequently transferred to a juvenile detention facility in Tehran and is reportedly being held in the quarantine section of the center.
In a separate case, 17-year-old Mehdi Haqju, a Gilak from Langarud, was arrested at his family home on January 12, 2026. His family has only been informed that he was transferred to Lakan Prison in Rasht. Authorities have not disclosed any further information regarding his legal status or conditions of detention.
