Hengaw: A Kurdish civil activist from Mahabad, who was arrested by the Iranian  intelligence service in February 2020 , has been sentenced to prison.

According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, Arastu (Rasoul) Mullah Rahimi, a civil activist from Mahabad, was sentenced to 31 months and 16 days in prison by the Iranian Kurdish Revolutionary Court in Mahabad on charges of "membership in the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran" and "propaganda against the regime."  He has been sentenced to 7 months and 16 days of imprisonment, including the days of previous detention, which is enforceable according to the law of aggregation of sentences, ie 31 months and 16 days.

The trial of Arastu Mullah Rahimi was held in early March 2020 and he was notified of the verdict issued on Saturday, March 27, 1400 (March 27, 2021).

It is worth mentioning that this civil activist has appealed against the verdict  of First Instance and his case has been referred to the Court of Appeals for review.

Arstu Mullah Rahimi was arrested on Saturday, January 23, 2020, after being summoned to the press office of the Iranian Intelligence Office in Mahabad , and was released on bail after a week of detention.
