Hengaw: The sentence of flogging a political activist from Bukan, who was arrested earlier this month to serve his sentence, has been carried out in the prison of Bukan.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, Chia Aghabeigapour, a citizen of Bukan, was arrested to serve his 14-month sentence in prison and sentenced to 60 lashes on the same day.
According to an informed source, the sentence of 60 lashes for Chia Aghabeigpour carried out in Bokan Central Prison on the same day he was arrested. Also, his fine of 30 million Tomans was received.
Chia Aghabeigopour was arrested by IRGC intelligence forces at 2 am on Thursday, July 29, 2021 and transferred to Urmia. He was released temporarily on bail of 300 million Tomans on Monday, September 8, 2021, after 40 days of arrest.
The Kurdish citizen was finally sentenced in October by the Bukan Enghelab Court to 14 months in prison, 60 lashes, and a fine of 30 million tomans for "propaganda against the regime" for collaborating with the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran.
Hengaw had previously reported that he was denied access to family visits as well as a having a lawyer during his detention.
It is worth noting that Chia Aghabeigapour, 28, from the village of Rahim Khan, Bukan, is married and has two little children.
