Ten detained civilians died as a result of torture during the last protests in Kurdistan cities in Iran, including Mohammad Haji Rasulpour. The Iranian authorities severely tortured Mohammad Haji Rasulpour, a Kurdish former political prisoner from Bukan, after his detention during the city's popular uprising. He died as a result of the severity of his injuries and the conditions of his care.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mohammad Haji Rasulpour passed away in the early hours of December 19, 2022, after spending five days in a coma at the Gholi Pur Hospital in Bukan as a result of severe torture by Iranian authorities.

An informed source told Hengaw: "Government forces did not allow Mohammad Haji Rasulpour to drink water for 20 days during his detention, which is one of the reasons for his health decline and death." From Tuesday, December 13, until the time of his death, Mohammad Haji Rasulpour had been in a coma after suffering severe injuries as a result of being tortured in Bukan Central Prison.

On November 23, Iranian government forces detained this citizen at his shop; he later died as a result of torture. Until he was taken to the hospital, no one from the government responded to his family's concerns.

It should be noted that Mohammad Haji Rasulpar was previously abducted on Saturday, October 1, by Iranian security forces. He was released on bail on October 17, following a 16-day detention.

This former political prisoner was freed from Bukan Central Prison on April 13, 2022, after having previously served a 5-month prison sentence for "propaganda for the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan."

Ten Kurdish civilians have been tortured and killed by Iranian government forces while detained since Saturday, September 17, 2022, according to figures recorded in the Statistics and Documents Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.
