The mother of Pezhman Fatehi, a political prisoner, has been summoned to the Intelligence Agency in Kamyiaran

The intelligence agency in Kamyiaran has put pressure on the family of Kurdish political prisoner Pezhman Fatehi by summoning and interrogating his mother, Afsaneh Yusefi, for several hours and subjecting her to mental torture and threats of further arrests of family members.

According to reports received by the Hengaw, the intelligence agency has not only threatened the family but also threatened Bayan Azimi, Pezhman's wife, who resides in Germany, from any further activity or advocacy related to her husband’s situation.

It is worth noting that Afsaneh Yusefi asked for help from human rights organizations last year to save her son's life in a video message. Pezhman Fatehi has been held in detention for nine months without the right of having lawyer or visitors.

Pezhman Fatehi was arrested on July 23, 2022, with three other members of the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan: Mohsen Mazloom, a 27-year-old from Mahabad; Mohammad Faramarzi, a 28-year-old from Dehgolan; and Wafa Azarbar, a 26-year-old from Bokan, in the village of Yengije, Somay-e-Baradost county of Urmia.

Hengaw previously reported that the false confessions of these four political prisoners to their alleged crimes were published on IRI state TV for the second time on December 5, 2022, and this has raised concerns about severe verdicts against them based on the trail of falsification against political prisoners by the Iranian government.
