Shahla Choupani was sentenced to three months in prison

Shahla Choopani, a woman from Saqqez who was detained by Iranian security forces earlier this year, has been sentenced to three months in prison.

Shahla Choopani, a woman from Saqqez who was detained by Iranian security forces earlier this year, has been sentenced to three months in prison.
 

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the 35-year-old Shahla Choupani from Saqqez, was recently sentenced to three months in prison by 105th branch of the criminal court of the city on the charge of "collaborating with the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran".
 

During her recent detention, Shahla Choupani was denied access to basic rights, including the appointment with a lawyer or any visit with her family.
 

Shahla Choupani was arrested on Monday, June 26, 2023, following a raid fmby the Intelligence Department forces into her family home residence in the town of "Qukh" in Saqqez.
 

After her arrest, she was transferred to the intelligence detention center in Sanandaj and was finally released from the womem detention center of the city on bail until the end of her proceedings.
