Jamal Faramarzi, a Kurdish political activist hailing from Sanandaj (Sine) and residing in Norway as a refugee, has been apprehended by Norwegian authorities. There are reports suggesting his imminent extradition to Iran. The Norwegian police have stated that he is scheduled for deportation to Iran at 11 o'clock on Friday, October 27.

According to a report obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Jamal Faramarzi, a 40-year-old Kurdish refugee, was arrested by Norwegian law enforcement last week and subsequently transferred to the "Trandom" prison within the country.

A source with close ties to Jamal Faramarzi's family has disclosed that this refugee was incarcerated with the explicit intention of deporting him to Iran. If this occurs, it poses a grave danger to his life, given his prior political activities.

This source further revealed that the Norwegian police transferred Jamal Faramazi to prison without providing any explanation and, disturbingly, deprived this asylum seeker of the right to legal counsel and in-person meetings.

It is worth noting that Jamal Faramarzi, a former political prisoner, sought asylum in Norway after departing Iran due to pressure from security institutions.

Expressing profound concern over the potential cross-border deportation of Jamal Faramarzi to Iran and the risk of torture and inhumane punishments by the Islamic Republic, the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights urgently calls upon international human rights organizations and institutions, particularly those dedicated to refugee protection, to address this matter.
