Hajar Saeedi, a Kurdish labor and women's rights activist from Sanandaj, who was detained for more than a month this year, was arrested and transferred to the female ward of Sanandaj Central Prison to serve a one-year prison sentence.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Saturday, November 18, 2023, Kurdish labor activist Hajar Saeedi, after being summoned and referred to the fourth branch of the Sanandaj Public Prosecutor's Office and the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court, was sentenced to one year in prison was arrested and transferred to Sanandaj Central Prison.
This labor activist was previously sentenced to two years in prison by the first branch of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj headed by Judge Saeedi on charges including "Assembly and collusion through the formation of a communist group" and "action against national security". This sentence was finally reduced to one year of imprisonment by the fourth branch of the Sanandaj Court of Appeal.
Hajar Saeedi, along with seven other Kurdish civil and labor activists, was arrested on the evening of Wednesday, May 18, 2023, by the Iranian intelligence forces at the home of Homan Abdulahi's father, a victim of the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi movement, in Sanandaj.
She was finally temporarily released from Sanandaj Central Prison on Sunday, June 18, 2023, by posting bail of 500 million tomans until the end of the proceedings.
