Sajjad Zare, a former political prisoner and political activist from Shiraz, who was arrested last year during the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi movement, was sentenced to 10 years and 6 months in prison and two years of exile to a city in Yazd province by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, during the past few days, Sajjad Zare, a political activist from Shiraz, was sentenced to 7 years and 6 months in prison for charges of assembly and collusion and 3 years for insulting the Iranian supreme leader by the 1st branch of the Shiraz’s Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court. He has been sentenced to two years of exile in one of the cities of Yazd province.

This political activist was arrested on Saturday, September 16, 2023, with the invasion of Shiraz Intelligence Department forces to his home and was transferred to the detention center of this city known as No. 100 after a while, he was transferred to Adel Abad prison.

Sajjad Zare was arrested by the security forces on Monday, 14 November 2022, during the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi movement and was released after 86 days of detention following the issuance of an "amnesty" circular.

It should be mentioned that Sajjad Zare was previously sentenced to prison by the judicial system and was released from prison in October 2021 after completing his sentence.
